Bollywood's Biggest Breakups

Bollywood's Biggest BreakupsBollywood breakups, some of which have been shocking and some highly predictable!

Making a relationship work does take a lot of effort. Yes, if you're in love with your partner, things do get a lot easier. Even so, you have to put in a lot of time and energy into your relationship to keep it on solid ground.

In the face of work pressures and everyday stresses of life, even the most lovey-dovey of all couples can find themselves on shaky ground as far as their relationships go. So is it any wonder that our Bollywood stars too have a tough time maintaining their relationships?

The constant media focus into their personal lives, alleged link ups with co-stars, not being able to stay connected because of hectic film schedules - are all these factors the reason why so many breakups abound in Bollywood?

Whatever the reason, over the years we have seen many high profile Bollywood breakups, some of which have literally been shocking and some highly predictable!

Some couples maintained a dignified silence and let the gossip after their breakup die a natural death, whereas some couples used the media to air their dirty linen and perhaps get their partners off their backs!

Here's a look at Bollywood's Biggest Breakups of all times.

Bollywood Divas On The Ramp

Bollywood Divas On The RampDesigners presented their visions of couture at the recent India Couture Week held in Mumbai.

Keeping with the latest wave of India-centric style in the fashion industry. Many designers turned to some of Bollywood's delectable diva's to present their vision of couture at the recent India Couture Week held in Mumbai in September.

And in true desi ishtyle the Bollywood beauties certainly added the glitz and glamour to the shows. Though maybe not as sculpted and chiselled as the willowy indigenous models the actresses turned models certainly kept the audience mesmerized as they presented the designer clothing with their own individual aura and mystique.

Swaying down the ramp were Sawaariya's leading actress Sonam Kapoor for good ole' pal Anamika Khanna. On Anamika's clothing Sonam said, she loved Anamika's clothes because they not only looked good but they also felt comfortable. Karishma Kapoor caused a ripple of appreciation and sighs amongst the male audience members as she tore up the runaway in a stunning Manav Gangavi maroon velvet lehenga ensemble. Former Miss Universe (1st Runner Up) Madhu Sapre delighted the audience in Ashish Soni adding a touch of Italian joie de vivre in her mannerisms.

Priyanka Chopra exuded demurity and innocence as immortalized a painting of Mogul Miniaturism in award-winning designer Ritu Kumar's latest bridal collection. Kumar's decadent, embroidered and embossed lehengas were picture perfect as they showcased the best of urban taste with regional craftsmanship. The lehengas utilized a range of textures from the wispy organdies, chiffons and crepes to the heavier silks and brocades sometimes incorporating many fabrics at once. The embroidery illuminating the best of hand-embroidery in Kashmiri kashida, Punjabi phulkari, and gota Rajesthani tila, and Indian gold-work. The maudlin memories of the Royal Courts seemed to have re-appeared on the stage due to Kumar's keen dramatic sense of fashion and contemporary urban chic.

Sisters Raima and Riya Sen caused a flurry as they sashayed in Kumar's sensuous low back cholis. Neha Dupia was a portrait of elegance and poise as she modelled Kumar's bridal ensemble.

India's own celebrity models on the slate included Carol Gracious, Jesse Randawa former Miss India 1978 Anna Bredmeyer.

And we haven't turned our focus on the luminaries in the audience, which we must say was also keeping with pomp and glamour of the event. Spotted were Javed Akhtar, Queenie Dhody, VJ Shruti, and Karan Johar to name a few.

Inspired Gifts For Bridesmaids

Inspired Gifts For BridesmaidsBuying gifts for the bridesmaids can be expensive but if you get it right it's a small price to pay for...

Inspired Gifts For BridesmaidsBuying gifts for the bridesmaids can be an extremely daunting affair. Bridesmaids are few of the most important women in your life because they are the people you have chosen to stand with on your wedding day. You can show your appreciation by giving them a well chosen bridesmaid's gift.

The choice of the gift depends completely on your priorities. Some people chose to spend thousands of Rupees while some tend to stick to gifts, which maybe inexpensive yet time consuming. What would then, be the ideal gift? To this question there is no right answer -You can do what you feel is right. You can also choose to buy everyone the same gift or you can buy personalized gifts. Either ways the gift should be such that it leaves everyone smiling.

Inspired Gifts For Bridesmaids A good idea is to buy accessories for the wedding day, which they can wear on that day and use later on. A necklace with a center stone that matches the dress or earrings make good options. If the wedding is to take place on a chilly December night a pretty shawl can do the trick. In some cultures it's customary to give the bridesmaids a wedding day attire or particular jewel such as rings. In such a case its best to stick to tradition but you can of course add a personalized gift to the traditional one.

If your wedding is to take place at a particular destination such as a beach, go with something theme related like a beach towel and a great beach bag. A beautiful coffee table book about the destination would be a welcome surprise. A gift bag full of goodies is also a super idea.

If the bridesmaids are very young, a personalized gift such as a music player would win you their favour. A personalized album or frame with photos of the wedding can also be a good gift. You can also buy them CDs of their favourite music. Gifts of this kind will always bring back good memories.

Inspired Gifts For Bridesmaids If you're of the type who thinks that a self made gift says more than a bought gift you can gift them a self made scarf, candles and bracelets. While DIY gifts are certainly more affordable, they require a lot of effort. Also, please only opt for DIY gifts if you are really good at making something. Amateur pottery or paintings are a big no-no!

You can also pamper them by gifts such as basket full of lotions, soaps. A manicure set, a spa gift certificate, a make up kit can also leave them beaming. Of course one can never go wrong with a box of dark chocolates and bottle of vintage wine.

Buying gifts for the bridesmaids can be expensive and nerve wracking. But if you get it right it's a small price to pay for the happiness of women who are so important to you.

Katrina's mother and her younger sister also flew down to attend the affair.

The guest list included Aamir Khan, Shahrukh & Gauri Khan, Salim Khan, Helen, Sohail Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Govinda, Dino Morea, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, David Dhawan, Neha Dhupia, Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Zayed Khan, Kunal Kholi, Rajpal Yadav, Anusha Dandekar, Ranvijay and Subash Ghai amongst others. Salman prepared the guest list and made all the arrangements for the party. He put together a great show and took it to entirely another level with his marriage proposal.

Eyewitness rumour has it that as the DJ tuned the title track of "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", Khan bent on his knees in front of everyone and proposed to Katrina. The lady was taken by surprise and she didn't know how to react, a source divulged. Though she refused to answer, but her smile revealed a lot, quoted others.

Incidentally, Salman is involving a lot of marriage talks in his conversation nowadays. Be it "Dus ka Dum" on TV or his blog, he is often spotted with few quotes on the subject. Can we picture this as a sign? Well, only time will tell us that.

As of now, it was a perfect proposal sundae with scoops of romance, dollops of surprise and the perfect background score being the cherry. What more can one ask for? Are we going to hear the wedding bells soon? Only Katrina has the answer to this question.

The couple has been dating each other steadily for the last couple of years and have been spot at several events together. They have never denied being in a committed relationship and have finally taken the plunge into wedded bliss.

Preeti looked gorgeous in a gold and bronze midriff baring lehenga-choli  while Parvin looked the dashing groom in a complementary sherwani. Surprisingly, close friend Kim Sharma was missing at the reception.

Also spotted at the do:
Sonali Kulkarni dressed in vermilion with a short new haircut. The haircut looks like something seriously went wrong. Come to think of it... so does the outfit!
Dia Mirza looking absolutely gorgeous in a gold and indigo outfit.
Rohit Roy & wife Manasi looking very much in love. Manasi was looking refreshingly simple but we felt she could have added a dash more on the accessory front.

Simply pick the elements you like from one or more Celebrity Wedding Planning Ideas we present and fashion these according to your personal tastes!

Give a personal twist to these unique celeb wedding planning ideas and gift yourself a Wedding Wow!!

  1. Anna Chlumsky With HubbyMake wedding favors count as personal tokens of gratitude for guests! Most Western and Parsi weddings have candy or monogrammed prezzies or even especially flavored/uniquely shaped chocolates, but look beyond these clichéd thank you gifts! Hollywood actress Anna Chlumsky ('My Girl') married out of her culture and chose to give away something representative of the culture - chopsticks were her choice!!

Perhaps, you could pack colorful glass or fancier bangles for your Indian wedding or consider customized wedding favors like satin / zari / lace drawstring purses filled with rose petals, 'Gis' inscribed with your initials or even pot-pourri for a meaningful wedding favor!

  2. Small B's Big Day! The Abhi-Ash wedding bash highlight: Amit-Jaya Bachchan reportedly performed a special waltz for the betrothed couple and some close friends also presented special song-dance skits at the Mehendi-Sangeet ceriony by the groom's parents!

If you can't arrange for a power-house pair like Amitabh-Jaya to shake a leg at your wedding and your folk aren't quite Nach Baliye material either, why not join a Salsa / Rumba / Bollywood dancing class in your city with your partner and herald a new dawn for D-Day celebrations, in your preferred ishtyle ?

  3. Paul McCartney With Heather Mills Else, take a cue from Paul McCartney (founder miber, Beatles) and glam-diva Heather Mills's 2002 wedding hosted at a cost of $3 Million at St. Salvator’s Church, Castle Leslie, Ireland. They catered for 300 guests with an Indian thied reception (and vegetarian fare), a top-end designer wedding gown for the bride and a bouquet comprising roses named after the groom before treating the invitees to a fabulous fireworks display!!
Wanna pinch pennies? Opt for the affordable alternative for iulating their star style: buy bridal wear from upcoming local designers, cut back on the guest list and escape to a tropical island for the honeymoon with the money saved! (This celeb couple went to a private island in the Seychelles; they sadly divorced this year.)

Hollywood or Bollywood celebs aren't the only ones indulging in enchanting wedding celebrations: business men and women and even a Crown Prince make it to our list! Check out more celebrity wedding planning ideas and how you can adapt these to your celebrations!

8 Celebrity Wedding Cakes

8 Celebrity Wedding Cakes"The wedding cake symbolizes wishes for fertility. Find out what it means to our celebs."

Billy Joel's Wedding Cakes The wedding cake symbolizes wishes for fertility and sweet beginnings for the bride and groom, but when it comes to our celebs, there's just no stopping them from going overboard with the gum-drops, sugar-plumz, designer treatment to their D-Day choices in these!

Celebrity Wedding Cake Designs We Love!

Guests at pop idol Billy Joel's reception were suitably impressed by the profusion of multi-colored sugar flowers that were, at intervals, decorated with artificial lemons, pears and green apples that cascaded down the side of a deliciously devilish 4-tier chocolate wedding cake!

Star Jones Reynolds And Al Reynolds Perfect Endings created Star Jones Reynolds's wedding cake: a sweet treat 10-feet high, bedecked with a spray of baby pink, sky blue and white flowers that tempted banquet guests at the Waldorf-Astoria. Psst! Those craving a quick chocolate fix right now can pick up "Sweet Celebrations" - the book by confectionary diva, Sylvia Weinstock, the creator of this wonderfully sinful extravagance!

Closer to home, although Indian weddings don't traditionally have a cake, brides may want to go with one of these two. Henna or mehendi  designs have been 'painted' onto the wedding cake to match the design on the bride's hands!

In the second option, an Indian couple is used as the cake toppers. Ultra cute if you please!

More celebrity wedding cakes we loved.
