Cause Of Frizziness

Question Teena asks,
I have a frizzy hair, black in colour and sometimes tend to use straightener to make it look silky. I want to know how to make your hair silky and smooth naturally without using straightener / hot irons?
Answer Dear Teena,

No medications can make your hair silky if you have a frizzy hair. There would be some external factor causing frizziness - it could be the dry climate or it could be use of some chemicals. So I would like you to take good intake of water and avoid products that contain strong chemicals.

Bumps On Scalp

Question Josie asks,
I have a 2 1/2 yrs old granddaughter with a dry scalp. It started about 3 months ago. We have been using the same shampoo since she was born. She also has bumps on her scalp. Can this be from the shampoo?
Answer Dear Josie,

Normally shampoo is not known to cause such bumps on scalp. However, I recommend you to use a delicate shampoo like Johnson & Johnson. At the same time I would like you to visit your doctor to rule out this disorder from the scalp.

Chlorine Damages Hair

Question Rashmeet asks,
I am living in a hostel where the chlorine content in water is too much. It tastes salty. I am aware that chlorine damages the hair. But how can one protect hair if there is no other source of water? What kind of shampoos one can use? I am experiencing hair fall and dry frizzy hair. It’s only after shifting to this place that it has started.
Answer Dear Rashmeet,

Chlorine definitely damages the hair and its better to stay away from things that can damage, I would like you to wash your hair with mineral water and perhaps that will reduce the dryness & frizz of the hair.

Stress And Depression

Question Komal asks,
My birth date is 30/07/1962 at 05.45am. I am still single. My life is very much a struggle. Now I am fed up of this life. Always unsuccessful in love!
Answer Dear Komal,

Marriage delays in our Indian culture bring lots of depression with a state of mind where a person feels deprived, helpless and insecure. It results in depression means either getting what one does not want, or not getting what one wants. But if feeling dejected and depressed is one part of the reality, the presence of strength and resilience in facing life is the other side.

There are numerous instances, recorded or unrecorded, in the lives of a person, which point to this uncommon degree of courage, calmness and enthusiasm even in the face of most trying conditions. We often wonder at these strength and ask: Is it possible? For us? The difficulty comes when we refuse to learn and instead cling to pain. That is how so many people go on privately fondling their painful memories, nurturing resentments, and planning to set 'others' right, not realizing that what must be set right is within and not without.

Please don't let your self down by negative thinking. Being a strong 'Leo / magician soul' you should use your "charm," persuasion, and whatever resource is available, and then let the Cosmic Forces direct your course or reveal what is hidden. In time, you will see that your prayers have been answered.

Advice: Pain plays the role of a teacher, educating and guiding us towards higher states of being. Wear 2 mukhi and 6 mukhi Rudraksh together.

Handling Difficult Relationships

Question Himani Mehta asks,
My name is Himani Mehta, 02/11/69 at 04.14 am, Mumbai and my fiancée's name is Chitrang Mehta, 06/11/73 at 11.15 pm, Mumbai.
We have been engaged since 19/08/2007 and have been looking at tying the knot soon, but unfortunately, we had to deal with either financial or family problems most of the time. This has been keeping the wedding at bay. This has unfortunately given rise to ugly fights, misunderstanding, arguments and its just leaving a bad taste in our mouth.
I would like to know, will we ever get married and if we do will it be worth it?
Answer Dear Himani,

Your partnership is an intense one, and you are likely to become very attached or obsessed with each other. Both of you are also prone to be possessive about anyone that you give your love to. This relationship could easily lead to marriage but like most lasting, important relationships, yours will have its share of difficult times, and you both seem to thrive on passionate, tempestuous interactions. Stormy fights and sizzling reunions may typify your relationship.

You both love intensely and you hate with equal ferocity, so your relationship is likely to be either deeply satisfying or very destructive to you both; there is no middle ground for the two of you! Unfortunately present cards are not in favor of marriage and it's because of Chitrang's over expectations from life before time. Better give second thought or seriously work on improving compatibility by ignoring worries and over expectations. Take care.

Advice: Try to be more open when dealing with relationships. Don't let your worries or emotions build up so much that you tend to drop a bomb on your partner. It can really be hurtful.

Questions On Marital Issues

Question Kavita asks,
When will I get married? Will I get married to the person I'm in love with. I'm facing problems in handling my family. When will they be resolved? My date of birth is 14/02/1984, at 12.03 pm and his 30/09/1983, at 10.35 pm.
Answer Dear Kavita,

Your Aquarian / high priestess love of all mankind will spark your Libran boy friend to go out there and change the world in both small and large ways. Friendly and sociable, these two common factors will bring out the best in each other. Both of you will share many other interests to make for an exciting affair and a long lasting marriage. Little patience of 8 months more will bring you all happiness. By the time all family members will be convinced for this marriage. The month of May and June 2009 is the best time for your marriage. My blessings to both of you.

Advice: Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.

Unconditional Love

Question Saheer asks,
My name is Saheer. I am Muslim by religion and I was born on 05/05/1967. I am in love with my Hindu girl Anasuya who was born in December 1964. I want to marry her as soon as possible. Please say when can we do so?
Answer Dear Saheer,

I must appreciate your 'unconditional love' for Anasuya. You are a sympathetic and kind person, generous with personal and material resources. Wisdom, and understanding are the cornerstones of your life, and these define your approach to life in general. Your extraordinary ability to understand the problems of others is forcing you to enter in this relationship. This year of 2008 is good as far as marriage is concerned. But sorry dear! I cannot see a life time commitment in your cards. You will not be fulfilled in your relationship because it is either nonproductive or dissatisfying at a very deep level. Both of you will have to work hard for marital life. My loving wises to both of you.

Advice: It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.

Life Partner

Question Amit asks,
I am Amit Asamwar, date of birth 16/05/1981 at 02:05 am, Ulhasnagar (Dist-Thane). My mother's name is Shobha S Asamwar. I want to know when I will get married and to whom?
Answer Dear Amit,

A lovely question from a 'knight of coins'. You are enjoying your life but your strong determination and sense of purpose is already marked for success. You are motivated, ambitious and a strong worker. You will get married next year i.e. 2009. She will be a down-to-earth girl. She will prove to be an excellent friend or business partner too who is steadfast and loyal. She will be highly creative and attractive girl. Prefer a working and educated girl. All the best.

Advice: Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.

Importance of Sound Sleep

Importance of Sound SleepDoes your spouse have a sleep disorder? Or do you complain lack of sleep?

Tushar Guha Tushar Guha
Dr. Tushar Guha, MD Nrityanjali - the Institute of Performing Arts, Education, Personality Development and Management Services, is a practicing Psychologist, Counsellor, Educationist & Corporate Trainer.
Have a question? Click here...

Importance of Sound Sleep Sleep is the most relaxing word. The word itself fills us with a sense of quietness, peace and relaxation. One of the most natural activities of all living beings we all love to sleep and crave it.

What is sleep - a physiological rest? Or a mental rest?

It is both and it is a natural necessity. It is a stress releaser, if of course, it is sound. Sleep is also a discipline of the mind and the body. As a baby, the duration of sleep is long hours and as we grow up, the duration reduces. It is always advisable to have a 6 to 8 hrs sleep of the twenty-four hours. Sleep induces physical, mental, psychological and emotional rest.

Sleep can be categorized into three segments.

  1. Sound Sleep - Where we fall asleep instantly as we go to bed and wake up after a long stretch of sleep without waking up in between. We feel fresh and energetic, once we are up. We may dream, but it does not affect us.

  2. Disturbed Sleep - It takes time to fall asleep. We wake up in the midst of our sleep. We have physical or mental discomfort. We dream and wake up. Often when we have arguments with our partners / spouses, the issues may be unresolved and remain in our subconscious. This affects the pattern of our sleep and even when we wake up in the morning we feel that our sleep is incomplete. The state of our relationships have a deep impact on our emotions and affects or sleep positively or negatively.

  3. No Sleep - is categorized as Insomnia where an individual gets no sleep at all

Every one of us desires to have the first i.e., the sound sleep. The importance of sound sleep reflects in the following:

  1. Our Energy Level
  2. Our Behaviour
  3. Our Attitude
  4. Our Emotional Level

All of the above enhance our acceptability, efficiency and success. Let us examine how?

Energy level - Sound Sleep leads to psycho - physical rest. The brain is not active neither is the body. It is the process of recharging and regaining spent energy. This naturally leads to physical well being i.e., avoids acidity etc. A sound health obviously leads to a higher energy level.

Behaviour - Naina was working in a market research company and had to regularly work late on projects. She used to sleep for around 4 -5 hours a day only. Due to this she used to get irritated quickly with her husband, children, her maid and work colleagues. Even when the situation didn't warrant it, there would be arguments and fights.

Lack of sleep or less sleep leads to irritation. We react more strongly than required and things spiral out of control. With sound asleep, the mental stress level diminishes. We feel charged. You will notice that when we sleep well we respond with joy and happiness with our spouses / partners. Even if there is an issue we deal with it more patiently.

Attitude - Sound sleep invariably leads us to de-stress and laziness does not creep in. The feel good factor is re-enforced. We feel calmer and in control. With lack of sound sleep, we are not up to doing anything, resulting into avoidance of accepting challenge. In fact as commonly said, we are then off mood. This leads us to be categorized as persons with an attitude problem.

Emotional Level - A disturbed mind and a disturbed body, without a proper balance, upsets the entire inner system of the individual. All these, ultimately reflect through the emotional outburst.

No relationship can be taken for granted. If the emotional outbursts are regular it starts affecting our relationships. People start avoiding us. Terms such as 'temperamental' are used to label the person. Between spouses too, the communication process, both verbal and non-verbal gets affected.

Sound sleep is a must. A disciplined life combined with simple, uncomplicated living is required. Doing our little things ourselves within the limitations of the individual system is the bottom line for this beautiful and most endearing part of our lives.

Deities Should Be Placed In The North

Deities Should Be Placed In The NorthGet your house Vaastu appropriate before it negatively impacts your life.

Satish Sharma Satish Sharma

Have a question? Click here...

Post Nuptial Implication

Question Neha asks,
I am recently engaged. Born on 27th Oct 1984, 05:00 am, Bhatinda (Punjab). I live with my parents in their house. The entrance is in Northeast direction and I sleep with my head in the East. Please advise how my future will be as I sense some problems?
Answer Dear Neha,

An entrance in Northeast direction brings difference of opinion. You should sleep with your head in South and legs in North. Make sure that after marriage you do not occupy a room in Northwest and Southeast. Prefer South and the sleeping posture should be the same. You should chant planet Jupiter for a harmonious married life. There may be some difference of opinion and the rest seems to be O.K. Right now you are running under period of Ketu and sub period of Rahu upto July 2009. After this you will feel better. You should enter your new life with an optimistic approach.

Delay In Marriage

Question Manjula asks,
My name is Manjula. Born on 7th Dec 1975 at 04:00 am, Bagalkot (Karnataka). I have been getting marriage proposals since 1998 but I am being rejected. We are staying in rented house and my main door is from East. I'm searching for a job as well. When will my problem be solved?
Answer Dear Manjula,

A good dasha for marriage has started on 9th Sept 2008. Year 2009 is important when talks regarding your marriage may proceed further and the marriage is likely in the second quarter of 2010. You should chant planet Mars for an early marriage. Sleep in the Northwest corner of your house with head in South and legs in North.

Obstructions In Marriage

Question Bhanu Jain asks,
My name is Bhanu Jain. I was born on 25th Dec 1975 at 11:55 pm, Ambala. I have consulted many astrologers for the reason of delay in marriage. They say that some one in our family has put an obstruction. I have got Sankalps done, have fasted on the days suggested. I am wearing Pukhraj in my left hand in the index finger too. Please tell when will I get married, how and to whom? My house entrance is Northwest.
Answer Dear Bhanu Jain,

September 2009 is important for you. The appropriate dashas for your marriage were not present earlier resulting in a delay. You should not think about any obstruction etc. Chanting planet Jupiter will be helpful.

Different Opinion

Question Kavita asks,
I got married on 23rd Sept 2007. My date of birth is 15th Aug 1976, Faridabad & my husband Vijay's date of birth is 14th Jan 1976, Faridabad. I'm very confused and I don't keep well after marriage. We are always having different opinions, and this leads into fights. How can I get my life to be normal?
Answer Dear Kavita,

You have not given your time of birth so an exact answer astrologically is not possible. You should follow some Vaastu tips for the improvement. Make sure that your bedroom is not in Northwest or Southeast corners. Prefer South direction with head in South and legs in North. You should chant planet Sun in order to keep your temperament cool.

Deity Placement

Question Manoj asks,
I was born on 10th Dec 1978, 06:18 am in Pune. Currently I stay in a flat with the main door in the Southwest corner of the house. We have Hunumanji 's photo on the door. I sleep with head towards South and feet to North. I have been searching for a bride for quite long now but have not been successful in finding the right partner. What should I do?
Answer Dear Manoj,

Your sleeping posture is fine but the main door in Southwest is not considered auspicious. Hanumanji has nothing to do with Southwest corner and the placement of the deity should be in North. As far as your marriage is concerned, the talks may proceed in 2009. The very appropriate time for your marriage is the first quarter of 2010. If you are sure that the main entry is in Southwest, it is better to change the house.

Marriage Compliances

Question Sindhu asks,
I got married 15 years back. I didn't get my marriage registered then but now I need the certificate for getting visa. My problem is I don't have residential proof before marriage since my parents have shifted their base to another city 6 years back. What is the other alternative to get the certificate?
Answer Dear Sindhu,

As per the limited facts narrated by you, you can get your marriage registered in the jurisdiction of the place where you are presently residing. You may approach the office of the registrar of marriages and initiate your registration process. You are required to file appropriate Affidavits stating your mode and place of marriage and then by submitting the required documents for the purpose of getting your marriage registered. Hope this suffices your query in brief.

Child Custody

Question Mohammad asks,
I don't want to divorce my wife who is from a different religion but she is insisting on the divorce. Actually we have a son and I want to get him back. Then only I will give her divorce. I want to raise him as Muslim. Can I get custody even if we divorce? He is 4 years old.
Answer Dear Mohammad,

As per your query and the limited facts narrated by you, you will have to move to the matrimonial court for seeking the custody of your child. Since your child is 4 years old, in most of the cases the mother is given the custody of the child as per your personal law, but if you have valid grounds to prove that you want to retain your marriage and have the custody of the child, the court may after ascertaining the true facts and after hearing both the parties grant the order accordingly. Please note that you will have to invoke legal process accordingly, you may consult an expert matrimonial lawyer for further appropriate compliances. Hope this should suffice your query in brief.

Mama's Boy

Question Maria Ferreira asks,
I am a Catholic married to a Parsi since 3 years. We got married in the court as well as in the church. But ever since we are married, our married life has been hell. I have been facing various issues with my partner. Firstly, his mentally retarded mother, who makes a complete mess of the house till we return home every evening. She uses abusive language, which one cannot bear. There is no privacy at all. And this doesn't make a difference to my husband. My problem is that I cannot prove it officially. He is taking advantage of that. Thirdly he doesn't support me financially in the house. I take care of my personal, medical and other expenditure. He loves his mother overtly and completely neglects me. I am sick and tired of this behavior. I do not want to stay with his mentally retarded mother. He forcefully claims that I should be nursing her. We have even opted for divorce; our case is still lying unfinished in the court. I cannot prove myself married because our marriage certificate is lying in the court. We had mutually agreed for the divorce and that's how I did not demand for alimony. But now I have resigned from my job due to medical problem. My husband is using me as a keep, a domestic item in the house. I need your guidance to move ahead in life.
Answer Dear Maria Ferreira,

As per your query and the facts narrated by you, presuming that your divorce is filed by mutual consent and is pending in the court of law, you can still ask for maintenance and alimony from your spouse, since you are having some medical problem and if he agrees to give you the alimony then you can talk to your lawyer and modify the consent terms filed with consent Petition in the court. In case your husband refuses to give you alimony and maintenance as required by you for your medical reasons etc., you have an option to withdraw your consent in the pending consent Petition filed by you or you may file a fresh Petition seeking maintenance form your husband. You must contact an expert matrimonial lawyer regards your further compliances. Hope this suffices your query in brief.

How Much Alimony Am I Entitled To?

Question Siri asks,
I got married in 2007. Soon after I joined in-laws family they started harassing me for dowry and gold ornaments. And my marriage has not been consummated even after one year. I thought this is because of their demands. But ultimately I came to know that my husband is impotent - to hide this they have played various games. But when I asked about this he sent me to my parent's house permanently and threatened my life if I come back again and join him and reveal this information to any one. He told me to go for a divorce from my side and said he does not wish to waste his money to pay for lawyer fee and court fee. I have applied for divorce in the court. I am jobless and do not have any property. I am depending on my parents. Do I get any permanent alimony from my husband through court? If yes, how much do I get and how much can I claim? My husband is working in Software Company as a senior executive with good salary i.e. more than one lakh per month and has 30 lakhs worth property. Please advise how do I live rest of my life? Do I get permanent alimony from him?
Answer Dear Siri,

As per your query and the facts narrated by you, you can definitely get permanent alimony from your husband for which you have to make appropriate applications to the Matrimonial court. You will have to initiate civil process for seeking appropriate reliefs and petition to the court for appropriate maintenance and alimony. You will have to cast a detailed petition and give in the details of your spouse's job, his income and his capacity to pay, his lifestyle, the description of his property he owns before the Hon'ble court and only after perusing the said applications and contentions of both the parties, the Hon'ble court shall be able to ascertain the quantum of alimony to be granted to you. You must contact an expert matrimonial lawyer regards your further compliances. Hope this suffices your query in brief.

Khula

Question Divs asks,
My friend has got married under the Muslim Marriage Act and Civil Marriage Act. Now he needs to get divorced after 4 years of marriage as he and his wife are staying separately for last 4 years. If they get divorced under the Muslim Marriage Act does the Civil Marriage gets dissolved automatically? Can you please suggest the right procedure for them to get divorced with mutual consent?
Answer Dear Divs,

As per the limited facts narrated by you, your friend and his wife can get divorced under their personal law by mutual consent by entering into the deed of consent divorce by Mubaraat or by Khula. Kindly note that the said divorce will have to be declared by the Family court. Kindly note that from the legal point of view and for any legal compliance your friend will have to approach the Court to seek appropriate Court order for appropriate declarations if they divorce by mutual consent. Your friend must contact an expert matrimonial lawyer regards your further compliances. Hope this suffices your query in brief.

Hair Loss

Question Sridhar asks,
I am 27 years old male. Since the past 5 years my hair is thinning. Small patches have formed. I don't have any hereditary problem. I feel stressed and that might be the reason for my hair loss. So, I would like to know from you whether I can get back my hair or not?
Answer Dear Sridhar,

Apparently as per your history you seem to have a Male Pattern Thinning which is always progressive. Treatment can slow down further thinning drastically but can seldom re-grow hair.

Hair Care

Question Himali asks,
I face the problem of falling hair every month. I had very thin hair till I was about 10 years old and after that my hair suddenly grew very thick and about four years later it started falling drastically. Although I controlled my hair loss by applying a hair tonic from Pantene - my hair never grew back to what I had earlier and still every month I face the problem of severe hair loss. I got hormonal check and sonography done but even those were normal. Where do you think the problem lies?
Answer Dear Himali,

You need to be seen thoroughly and analyzed by trichologist before arriving at any conclusion. In the meantime you should have proper intake of diet with good intake of water.

Nutritional Deficiency

Question Kiran asks,
I have a heavy hair fall everyday, in the shower and while brushing my hair. I have thick, black wavy type hair. I do apply oil once in a week, sometime once in a fortnight. I am not suffering from any disease.
Answer Dear Kiran,

A fall of around 50-60 hair strands per day is normal and yet if you feel there is tremendous hair fall than it can be due nutritional deficiency and hormonal problem. Please get that checked.

Grey Hair Dilemma

Question Sonia Pherwani asks,
I have grey hair in the front and I have been using henna since many years but the problem is that it doesn't last and after four days I can see the grey hair again. I don't want to use hair dyes as it causes headaches. Please suggest the best natural way?
Answer Dear Sonia Pherwani,

To mask the grey hair the best natural way is to use henna and to oil your hair regularly.

Thyroid Problem

Question Nita asks,
I am 50 years old woman having thyroid for last 5 years. In the last one year there has been excessive hair fall. Please help me. My doctor said hair fall is due to thyroid problem. Is there any remedy?
Answer Dear Nita,

Thyroid fluctuations can lead to hair fall so it is mandatory to have the thyroid hormones normalized by taking appropriate medicines.

Masturbation

Question Swamy asks,
Will regular masturbation before marriage cause low sperm count?
Answer Dear Swamy,

No. Masturbation is a normal and healthy habit, which does not affect sperm counts. Your body produces sperm all the time and you cannot ''run out of sperm'', so please do not worry!

Delayed Periods

Question Pasha asks,
I got married 6 months back. Since then we are trying for a child. But my wife has not yet conceived. I am looking into some changes in her body. Like she has headaches and backaches often and mood swings also. But her period has not stopped and she bleeds only for 2 days. Her lower abdomen has also increased in its size. Is my wife pregnant? Is it possible that a woman gets her period even after conceiving?
Answer Dear Pasha,

No, this is very unlikely. You need to be patient - Nature takes time to make a baby! If your wife is not pregnant in another 9 months, then do a complete workup before starting treatment haphazardly.

Do the following simple medical tests:

  1. Your semen analysis, to check the sperm count and motility.
  2. Blood tests for the following reproductive hormones - FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), LH (luteinising hormone), PRL (prolactin) and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) on Day 3 of her cycle, (to check the quality of her eggs). Do this only from a reliable lab such as Specialty Ranbaxy.
  3. A HSG (hysterosalpingogram, X-ray of her uterus and tubes) on Day 8 of her cycle (to confirm if her fallopian tubes are open).

With these test results, we can determine if there is any medical problem causing infertility. If there is a problem, then we can treat it! The chances of conceiving with the right treatment are excellent!

Ectopic Pregnancy

Question Sherika asks,
I am 33 years old and trying for my second baby. But I had an ectopic pregnancy where they removed one fallopian tube. Is it still possible to get pregnant again?
Answer Dear Sherika,

Yes, but only if your other fallopian tube is normal. You can check this by doing a HSG or a laparoscopy. However, you do have a risk of having another ectopic pregnancy again and you must ask your doctor to confirm that your pregnancy is intrauterine the next time you get pregnant.

Azoospermia

Question Sarah asks,
I want to ask that if the man has zero sperm count what are the treatments for that? We (my hubby and I ) have been to many doctors but with no result.
Answer Dear Sarah,

It appears you have a zero sperm count. This is called Azoospermia. Can you send me the detailed semen analysis report? Volume? Fructose? PH?

Please repeat it again. Do 2 samples, after an interval of 1 hour (sequential ejaculate), and ask them to centrifuge the sample and check the pellet for sperm precursors. Send me this report once you get it. If it's still zero, then we need to find out the reason behind your Azoospermia. There are 2 possibilities - obstructive Azoospermia; or non-obstructive Azoospermia. You need a testis biopsy to determine if sperm are being produced in the testes or not. A good urologist will do this for you. Ask him to do multiple microbiopsies and send them to the pathology laboratory in Bouin's fluid. Let me know what the report is once you get this.

Intake Of Other Tablets

Question Keerthi asks,
I by mistake took my hubby's tablet i.e. Oligocare instead of having Ovacare. It's on my fifth day of the cycle. Can you please tell me if it affects me in any way as we are planning to have a baby? And also I may go for IUI in this cycle? Is this tablet harmful for the follicles?
Answer Dear Keerthi,

I am not sure what this tablet contains, so I cannot comment, sorry.

I am Poonam Arora. My date of birth is 22nd July 1981. My mom's name is Gulshan Arora. I was born in Panipat (Haryana) at 5.50 am. When will I get married and how will my partner be?
Answer Dear Poonam,

You are a lovely 'Empress', a sensitive and creative soul, romantic, graceful personality, likes to use imagination in wondrous ways and taps the deepest levels of emotion. Similarly on the positive side a romantic, emotional, sensitive, creative, dedicated, motivated, sensual and loving person ruled by the drive for expansion will enter in your life within next six months. Both of you will have close ties and good compatibility but sometimes his melodramatic moods and your Leo anger may create problems in your marital life. His career and financial stability is sure but will come with time. What you want or need will come to you very soon.

Advice: Happiness is a perfume. You cannot spread it on others without getting a few drops on yourself. So always be happy to make others happy!

Answer Dear Roma,

Yes! This can be a very warm and mutually fulfilling relationship. Both of you are romantics at heart and tend to be "in love with love". You both need love and romantic gestures, the giving and receiving of gifts, etc. Personal appearances and attractiveness is important to both of you. You are more decisive and very clear about personal preferences and desires, while Nihal is more flexible and will compromise graciously in order to please you. Nihal should avoid being self-absorbed and be a stronger individual and you being a highly developed sense of fairness and equality are good signs of happy marital life. Financial stability ensures buying a house. Don't worry! Go ahead and enjoy life.

Advice: If you judge people, you have no time to love them. Feel them, understand them and accept them.

Marital Bliss

Question Sugandree Pillay asks,
I am 29 yrs old, born on 3rd January 1979 at Durban, South Africa at 10.00 am. I am an Indian female. My full name is Sugandree Pillay. I would like to know if I am going to get married and have children. If so, by when?
Answer Dear Sugandree Pillay,

The chances are not very good to get married within this year. Even if there is a chance, and you may meet someone - please, think very carefully, and don't jump into any commitment without thinking it through very well. Go out there, get some more experience, meet some people before you pick that one. Your cards are about seeing more of the world, of daring to go out there, have a bit fun, see who matches up well with you in terms of compatibility. He's out there, dear, but, don't just sit waiting for him until he shows up. You are carrying an Empress soul that indicates fertility and child-birth. Definitely you are going to give birth to a child on your choice of time. Live your life.

Advice: He who has confidence in himself will gain the confidence of others.

Brittle Nails

Question Preeti asks,
I had a medical problem 10 yrs back. After treating it my nails have become very brittle, dry and have developed vertical and horizontal lines. The growth is extremely poor and it chips off often. My hemoglobin is 12 and I have been taking Vitamins for last 10 yrs. Can I restore my nail strength once again?
Answer Dear Preeti,

Brittle nails are quite a common problem. Take a high protein diet like cereals, pulses, soya, milk and milk products. Internally take Biotin capsule, anti-oxidant and calcium once a day for 3 months.

Adverse Effect Skin Lightening

Question Preeya asks,
I am undergoing laser hair removal treatments for my facial hair, and have had two sessions so far. My doctor says that I refrain from using skin-lightening creams during the entire period. My skin has darkened despite the regular sunblocks, so I want to go back using my skin lightening creams again. Why do you think my doctor said I shouldn't use it? My skin had no problems with those creams in the first place!
Answer Dear Preeya,

All skin lightening creams make the skin sensitive to the ultraviolet rays. Also Laser hair removal makes the skin very sensitive, hence it is usually advisable to avoid using these creams whilst on Laser treatment.

Black Scars

Question Satish S asks,
My home state is Karnataka and I am presently working in Navi Mumbai. I have black scars, patches on my face. My face is always oily. I would appreciate it if you give some remedial measures for it as I am going to marry soon.
Answer Dear Satish S,

Since you have oily skin use a face wash meant for oily skin 2-3 times a day. Use multani mitti  pack once / twice a week depending on the oiliness. Use moisturizers which are oil free / oil control. Use a good sunblock (SPF 30 or above) 2-3 times a day. Also consult a dermatologist to rule out any hormonal imbalance.
For black scars and patches there are a variety of treatments like microdermabrasion, fruit acid peels. 4-6 sittings are required at an interval of 4-6 weeks to get the desired results. They act by peeling the top layers of skin and thus give a lightening effect. You can use creams containing Vitamin C, Kojic acid, Hydroquinone at night to get the lightening effect.

Hormonal Imbalance

Question Sana asks,
I have very oily skin and it tans frequently as well - you can say just in seconds. I have used every branded and expensive sunblocks but the results are always nil. Please help me in this regard because my complexion by birth was milky white and now it's so dark. One more problem is that from the last few years the area near my nails on both hands and feet are getting so dark that it actually looks black and very abnormal as compared to my fair skin.
Answer Dear Sana,

One's complexion is genetically determined but of course, you have to take good care of it. Use a good sunscreen of SPF 20 or above to avoid tanning. Use a good moisturizing cream at night. Glowing complexion comes with a healthy lifestyle, good balanced diet, plenty of water, exercise and mental relaxation. You can use some home made packs made of cucumber, almonds, honey, oats and lemon daily. Grind to a paste and apply it on the face. Wash with circular movements after 1/2 an hour.

Areas around the nails on both hands and feet looks dark especially in case of hormonal imbalance hence can be lightened to a certain extent. Creams containing Kojic acid, Vitamin C, Hydroquinone when applied at night help in giving the lightening effect.

Pimple Prone Skin

Question Adhya asks,
I have dull, medium toned skin which has been considerably sun tanned. I can't use oily creams because in such cases I have eruptions and pimples. Fortunately I don't have acne scars. Please suggest a remedy for fair, glowing complexion.
Answer Dear Adhya,

Since you have oily and pimple prone skin, wash your face with a soap-free face wash once or twice a day. Use an oil- free moisturizer which helps in moisturizing the skin and at the same time doesn't aggravate pimples. Deworming once in 6 months helps in cleansing the system. Use a medicated anti-dandruff shampoo once a week. Glowing complexion comes with a healthy lifestyle, good balanced diet, plenty of water, exercise and mental relaxation. Locally use anti-acne creams like adaphalene, erythromycin, and clindamycin gel once at night.
